Why an information hub and not a prospectus
Venezuela's oil sector attracts a great deal of speculation, much of it built on assumed policy changes or unverifiable claims of access. This site takes the opposite approach: it explains the technical and legal reality and states plainly that this concept has secured nothing. Any future activity would depend on financing, permits, detailed engineering, environmental review, United States sanctions authorization including any required OFAC licence, Venezuelan governmental approvals, anti-corruption controls, insurance and binding agreements — none of which exist today.
